Sunday Morning Merge @ 9:45 am

Nursery: for birth to age 4, room 3

K - grade 2: room 7-8 (Bible Basics)

Grades 3-5: room 11 (Scientific Experiments and God’s Word!)

Adult Groups: (these classes run from June 6 - August 22 (12 weeks)

    a. The Wired Word: a discussion and Bible study based on something from the week’s headlines.

    b. God and Golf: a golf devotional by Phil Callaway will be shared and discussed and then it’s outside to hone golfing skills!

    c. Go Fish/Faith, Hope, and Luck: We’ll have two dvd series by Andy Stanley, both that deal with faith. Go Fish is about sharing our faith as naturally as we share fishing tales about “the one that got away.” Faith, Hope, and Luck addresses our often changing level of faith. When God answers our prayers, we’re full of faith! When God is silent, it becomes harder to trust him.  But it doesn’t have to be that way - it’s not supposed to be that way.

Summer Studies ... unless otherwise stated, summer classes are co-ed and for anyone interested in them!

Wednesday Morning Bible Study... continues throughout the summer. Meet in the Fellowship Hall at 9am on Wednesdays.

Faith Like Potatoes (Thursdays, June 3 - July 8/6 weeks)Our own Heather Boise has prepared this curriculum and will lead the group!  Faith Like Potatoes is a 2006 South African movie based on the book about a Zambian farmer who leaves his farm in the midst of political unrest and racially charged land reclaims and travels south with his family to start a better life.  Faced with ever mounting challenges, hardships, and personal turmoil, Angus quickly spirals down into a life consumed by anger, fear, and destruction.  It’s a moving journey of a man who, like his potatoes, grows his faith, unseen until the harvest. Time: First class, 6-8pm to watch the movie; remaining classes, 6:30-7:30. Bring a Bible!

BUMP! (Brushwood United Methodists Pray ... Wednesdays, June 2 - July 7/6 weeks) A time of individual and corporate prayer for our families, church, community, nation, and world.  Time: 7:30-8:15 pm.

RAKE (Random Acts of Kindness Everywhere ... three Tuesdays this summer, the first one being June 22):  Each month of the summer, this group will perform a RAKE.  Each month will be a different mission ... but it won’t be impossible!  Meet at the church, but we’ll need drivers to haul our participants to various locations! Time: 6:00 pm.

God and Church (grades 6-8, Sundays starting June 13/8 weeks) is a program that Boy and Girl Scouts can take to earn religious emblem recognition. The good news is that it’s also for kids in 4-H, youth group, Sunday School, etc!  Please contact Wayne Williams ASAP if you’re interested!  Cost is $5. Time: 4-5 pm.

VBS will run the week of July 12th from 6-8:15 p.m. each night!

  • SUMMER SOCIALS that are being planned...

In June: Bowling Extravaganza with the 20- and 30-Somethings!
In July: The Backwards Party... an evening for those in their 40s and up!

    Starting in August...

    BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY
(also called Disciple 1 or D1... Sundays, starting August 8 and runs through May): Disciple 1 gives equal time to both the Old and New Testament, emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as the revelation of God. Disciple 1 aims at transformation, not just information, and calls on persons to submit themselves to examination by Scripture, to put themselves under the power of God’s Word, and to be changed by God’s Word.

This study requires reading large portions of Scripture each week and is based on careful study and preparation. During the course of 34 weeks, groups will move through the biblical stories of Creation to the New Jerusalem.

This is a covenant group and will be closed to new participants once it has begun. See Karen Williams for information or to sign up! Cost: $35 (manual). Time: 5-7 pm.
